When a very strong typhoon recently hit the Philippines, it left a wake of destruction. There were many lives lost and people who lost everything they owned. Santa Ana Recovery Home
There is a church in Santa Ana whose mission is to help the least and the lost. They have recovery homes for men and women who are on the streets - the drug addicts, homeless, prostitutes, teens in gangs who have nowhere to go, and others. With grateful hearts we remember the bubbly smile of Genyne Marks, Pastor Stan Summer's daughter who recently passed away from a stroke. Genyne was a wonderful worship leader whose heart and passion for God came through her music as she led many people into God's throne room while we sang and lifted our hands to the Lord in thanksgiving together. There is a special home for pregnant teens with no one to turn to called Mary's Shelter. They provide loving care for these soon to be young mothers and training on how to care for their babies. Pastor Stan Summers and House of Mercy Church hosted a Music Fest on the Indian Rez in Bishop, CA. There was a lot of good music, fellowship, eating BBQ and being merry. Appalachian Mountain Outreach
There is a pastor missionary in North Carolina that is bringing hope to people in the mountain towns that have been abandoned for the most part. His name is Alan Eakin with Wings of Faith East. They acquired an old 1995 Tahoe to haul goods up in the winding mountain roads, but the transmission went out. In the summer our friends on the southwest Indian Reservations hold tent church meetings, or Camp Meetings, as some folks call them. Orangewood Children's Home Donations
Earlier this year, Water From the Rock had an opportunity to put a smile on the faces of some disadvantaged kids and teens thanks to KOHL's department store in Irvine, California. KOHL's donated 600 cuddly stuffed animals to Water From the Rock. Water From the Rock financially supports the Orange County Jail Ministry in southern California. The OC Jail Ministry has about 300 church services every month in the local jails.
