Construction of a house is a detailed business that starts with the cornerstone being laid to make a solid foundation.  The reference point for a building is the cornerstone that has only true right angles.  It is perfect, not 1 mm off.  Jesus is our Chief Cornerstone for a building not made with human hands.  He is our moral and spiritual cornerstone, the perfect Son of Man on which the church is built into a holy house of God.  The body of Christ is a spiritual house for the Spirit of God to dwell in, and the Christians are the "living stones".  Jesus is the precious Cornerstone as spoken of in Isaiah 28:16, and He is a sure foundation.  Jesus is also the Capstone, or the last stone to be laid in the building.  The capstone anchors the building together.  Jesus is the first stone and the last stone, the First and the Last, the Alpha and Omega who has no beginning or end.  We serve a living God who is building a holy habitation, and believers are the living stones of His Temple.  The sure foundation is Jesus Christ, and righteousness and justice are the foundation of His glorious house.
